OK so the challenge is over and i did pretty well. Of course always room for improvements but lost 3.7% body fat and lowered my total cholesterol by 30 points. Still working on weight loss and my blood sugars for my pre-diabetic stuff though and still need to lower cholesterol more but i feel what i accomplished was great and such an amazing opportunity and meet some wonderful Ladies and friends through this. No i didn't win the challenge but Loleta did and she so deserved it I'm very proud of her. So I'm posting a picture of me @ the event but please excuse the makeup as ulta did it and i feel it was a little to much for me and i felt kind of like a clown, but otherwise i feel my figure rocks. take care and thanks for following me.

Hi everyone, so i went dress and shoe shopping tonight with my mother in-law (bless her soul)it was a good time and she was so helpful. I found a very stunning RED dress and black shoes. I also went to Ulta and got my color match done for makeup. They use bare minerals products and i've never used them b4 so it was fun. I'm so excited for Wednesday and nervous is anyone else? And my husband Brent is coming with me, is anyone else besides Molly bringing support with them? Does anyone know if we get to sit with out spouses or whom ever we bring? I'm not letting my husband see my my dress or shoes until he comes Wednesday.i will post pictures probably Thursday and let everyone know how it went and who won the challenge and all my results. Almost the end but a whole new beginning

​​​OMG ladies were almost done with the challenge but yet ready to start a whole new beginning on our own. I'm so excited to see everyone @ the luncheon next Tuesday i can't wait. I had my Hair appt with Erin w/ Hairapy last Friday and i really like it and very nice nice job, she's such a amazing person to help us with this and lift our spirits with a hair makeover, and such a great person in general. and i was so excited to learn she's going to style our hair for us the day of the luncheon also.
So i have my last dietitian appt tomorrow so lets see how my pre-diabetes and blood sugar testing has been, and on Wednesday i have my last labs and cardiology nurse practitioner appt with Carol Marsh and hoping my numbers have done even better since last time. and then next Monday is my last appt. with Steve my trainer. So wish me luck guys and i wish the same for you guys and cant wait to see you guys. also ladies bring your calendars with you to the luncheon as at the circle of life meeting we were thinkins of trying to set a weekend or even 1 night get away for all of us to do together to kinda celebrate so maybe we can get that set up and also be thinking of a suggestion of where to go or what to do. Molly i hope you have a great vacation and keep in touch and try to stay on track. See everyone soon.

Hi everyone it's been awhile sorry. I have been sick for about 6 days with a massive migraine, was in to Dr. 2 times and ER once for injections and X-Rays and labs to try and figure out what is going on, I do get migraines but never this severe or this long. Everything has come back normal so far (lab work & X-Rays)so now they want to do a CT of the head as well as a referral to a Neurologist. It's been very scary and painful at times. As they aren't sure why this is happening and if its sinuses or head.today is much better and i actually am able to function somewhat for the 2nd day in a row. YEAH!!!!
So anyways Molly i want to wish you good luck tomorrow on your makeover and my appt is after you in the evening so I'm very excited. and i know i also seen someone else has on Saturday so best of luck to all and hope everyone is doing well and staying on track as our challenge is almost near. Molly also have a great vacation and can't wait to see you when you return and hear about it. Maybe we can get 1 last workout in. Take care all and hope everyone best of luck.

We are almost there!!!

Hi there everyone it's been awhile sorry. OK so Last Friday was the Circle Of Red and so nice to see everyone and chat that was awesome and well needed everyone looks amazing. Glad to see and hear from everyone about the challenge and talk about it, i wont be able to bring my spouse to Luncheon for us on March 2nd as they changed time and didn't tell us till last Friday @ the Circle Of Red and also to expensive, wish i could have him for support specially if one of us wins this challenge it would be nice to have someone there but hey we are all winners right. So last weekend was a little crazy as my son turned 8 so we has his party Saturday. and that was a great day and he said one of the best parties ever it was sledding and outdoor. ( great plan to help promote healthy things for parties and the obesity today). although did have cake, hot dogs and chips. and Sunday was his real birthday so my husband and i took him on the timber twister alpine coaster at Spirit Mountain, it was a blast they had been on it before but not myself. So Monday Molly and myself meet with our trainer Steve for kind of a mid check up and awesome workout while I'm down 5 lbs and 2.7% body fat that was great news wish weight was down more I'm also building muscle and if i do say myself i'm looking pretty good and belly slowing going away...AWESOME. I have also noticed i can run on treadmill longer and do more of a workout its great and i feel so pumped and wonderful after.about the diet i have been doing pretty well haven't really documented food to well i do have to admit not that I'm doing bad but so busy and forget my big binder all the time. so i have made it to the gym 2 times this week Wednesday worked extra hard and was able to do treadmill for minutes in beginning the 25 in end after routine. amazing feeling never have been able to do that before. This weekend i will be going away for my husbands birthday just the 2 of us till Sunday god i hope the hotels have a gym. if not pool here i come for laps and water exercise. and i hope to blog then also. So i hope everyone else is continuing to do well and i always think of you ladies you are all so amazing and uplifting. awesome support group...take care and chat soon.

Wear and Go Red Today

Heart disease is still the No. 1 killer of women, so that is why I'm so grateful to have become a participate and learn how to better not only myself but also my family and others i know. Great Job everyone on our progress i know it hasn't been easy and may ups and downs hang in there were all doing great just being educated and moving on from there. Hi everyone sorry i havent really posted lately, guess i'm kinda feeling like down about everything lately. Hopefully i come off in this post as ungrateful or always a downer but i have to vent sorry... And to make things worse my Vitamin D level is very Low @ 10 when it should be atleast 30 or better, so now i'm on 50,000 of Vitamin D weekly for 12 weeks. I just dont feel like i'm making the progress i had hoped to. I do go to the gym atleast 3-4 times a week plus do excersie and treadmill at home. Like the whole weight thing my numbers arent changing on the scale and thats upsetting, and meetings ( there hasnt been any) and also about our trainers. I dont know about yours but when i seen my in the beginning he meet with me for a few times then set me on my own and said to come and see him in about 3-4 weeks, so i call to make appointment which we decided a date and time. Then he cancels and when i call him to set another date he says and why and what are you seeing me for? To go through your routine or what? Go figure, so i'm frusterated. i guess i thought maybe we would be followed better through everything but i dont see that besides with my dietiacian and Carol Marsh. Dont get me wrong i'm so greatful for this oppurtunity and to be given this chance. Thanks for letting me vent. And i'm always so excited to look @ the Go Red website and read the other ladies updates and progress you guys are all very inspiring to me and help me through this, sorry havent been able to comment still but so you know i do read them all the time. And yes i will be there this Friday and cant wait to see and talk to you other Go Red Girls. And would love to look @ those cookbooks i think it was Chris talking about. OK so i had my 6 week follow up today with Carol Marsh CNP for Cardiology and it was a awesome appt.. according to her i have lost 3 lbs, brought my cholesterol's down 30 points which still isn't ideal but getting better with diet and exercise Carol said that was great to see them drop like that and that was the push ( Pick me up ) I have needed as Ive been kind of down and discouraged lately. And since I am going out to eat tonight@ Olive Garden I thought I'd be ahead of the game and look at the menu and nutrition facts online before I go and see what's healthier to eat. Thanks Carol....she also gave me some helpful tips about what to eat and what to change and what food items are starch ( as Brenda my dietitian told be to cut back on). I also ran into Molly today and were both going to meet with our trainer Steve together on Monday and see how its going from his point of view, also work out together. Molly and I were also talking about wanting to set up a get together for all of us Go Red Ladies so we will look @ our calendars Monday and let you know when and where we've decided if anyone else wants to join us. I'd love to see you guys and hear about your challenge and whats been working and hasn't and whats been hard and easy. Also i want to thank my aunts Ginny, Gail and Peggy and my mother in law for always commenting on my updates and giving me the extra courage and support i need thanks guys love you, Take care and have a great weekend.

So i had an appt today with my dietitian and i am up 2 lbs, which was upsetting as my jewelry and clothes are fitting better. But i have at least gotten my Fasting blood sugars down. I don't really understand i have been feeling so bloated and gassy lately I don't know if its certain foods or what but it's been awful. So i have bought activia yogurt as well as alot of gas x. Sorry if this is TMI for some people but maybe someone can tell me if they r feeling the same or what? I'm getting to the gym about 3-4 times a week if not more and also doing exercising that i can @ home on the days i don't go to gym and drinking alot more water..I'm calling Erin for my hair makeover appt tomorrow to set it up. so i will let everyone know when it is and also how my appt Friday goes with Carol Marsh CNP @ cardiology. Healthy Changes

i just wanted to write and tell everyone I'm so excited to see everyone else noticing changes and feeling better, I'm so grateful i was given this opportunity and it sure has made a difference for me and my family we all are noticing the changes and push each other towards them and also thanks so much to my wonderful husband and children for being so supportive through this it sure makes it easier when they are so understand and helpful. LOVE YOU GUYS.... It's not only changed me but now when my almost 8 year old son goes for a snack before bed he will ask me to get him something that's healthy that i would eat. and also when my 3 year old daughter says mommy i want to go play with my friends at child care in the exercise place so you can go exercise, so i know I'm doing my job and being a better influence on my children that all makes it so worth it and i feel so good. Hopefully we can have a meeting soon as it would be nice to see everyone face to face and talk have a great day

feeling better, getting healthier with Red

hi there everyone, wanted to let everyone know things are going good, and yes i to notice a smaller stomach forming, jewlery fitting looser, clothes fiting better and i'm getting more energy and feeling better and really love to work out and get upset when i cant. i do some @ home but love going to the gym way more then home workout not sure why. i'm excited i hope to meet with Carol Marsch this week again to have labs done again and also see how my glucose monitor and readings have been for the pre diabeties and we are also going to look @ labs when i have them drawn before my appt. hopefully numbers are starting to change i feel so much better. and also look at my medications i'm on. my goal for this coming week is to not eat out so much and workout even more and hopefully meet up to workout with Molly.take care

Workingout for go red

So today I was able to meet with my trainer Steve and challenge buddy Molly as we have the same trainer and we were able to workout together today. It was a great workout and Steve really worked us hard he kicked our butts. I could really feel my thighs and calves burning even now but no pain no gain right. It was nice to workout with a buddy I think u kind of push and help each other, so Molly and I are going to try and workout more often together. Hope others r doing well and enjoying this opportunity I know I sure am and learning more and more each day. Good luck to all.

On Track

hi there everyone while good news i meet with my trainer Steve on Monday 1-3-11 and we set out a plan for me, i also worked out for awhile and felt great and was so proud of myself that i was able to keep up with what Steve expected and wanted me to and i wasn't even sore the next day...( shhhh don't tell him that.). specially being a smoker and out of shape. i hope he was proud. he anticipated he can get my weight down about 25 lbs or so in my 3 months that sounded great and amazing to me so I'm very excited. i also meet with Brenda my dietitian yesterday and she said things are going on the right track I'm, down a few pounds and she said that is great since it was the holidays, i still need to eat more meat and protein though so i will try harder on that. But otherwise all is going great and finally starting to feel the full affects of the challenge. I'm so lucky and grateful for this opportunity and Hope everyone else is doing and feeling well also. take care
